South Cotswold Soaring Association: Little London

Little London:

As the trees in the landing area on Frocester hill have grown up considerably over the last few years, landings are now very tricky (2026). As an alternative, we have been trying out the Little London slope. This is a large bowl, roughly West facing and is located on the back of Rodborough Common.

The slope seems to work well when the wind is between the Frocester & Selsley slopes.

What 3 Words ref for the flying site = ///timer.jotting.hoaxes.

Directions:

It's on the road across Rodborough Common. Park in the sunken car park by the old Easterly slope ( W3W ref = ///cracker.precluded.seriously ).

Walk up the steps at the back of the car park, then walk roughly straight across the common (bearing slighty to the left) following the grass paths . Please see images below for more info

Flying site W3W ref = ///timer.jotting.hoaxes and we've flown from just in front of the bench by the small trees.

Landing:

The best landing area seems to be near the path to the left and slightly behind the bench. There is plenty of room to land and not much in the way of obstacles though.
